Barcelona City Center
This project was to transform a public space near the Arc de Triomf in Barcelona. The street was previously a dirty passageway full of cars, but tourists traveling from the bus stop into the historical center would use this route to get to old town.
The city needed a practical and useful solution for this passageway for pedestrians, but also needed construction to happen under a tight budget. The architects used cheap but durable, visually pleasing materials for this project, and cleared a large space for tourists to not only pass through, but also spend time in.
The construction was low-cost to the city and solved the need for this urban space to be transformed into a more useable and functional area.
